THE ABSTRACT OF CUBISM
Cubism is a style of art work that came out from an idea
of Paul Cezanne. It’s an abstract art that first developed on the earlier of
20th century. The term of ‘cubism’ it self announced by Louis Vaxcelles an art
critic. The first cubism art painting is drawn by Pablo Picasso and Goerges
Braque. After they create their painting a real cubism style has announced.
The example of Cubism art
Cubism art style was developed as a challange of artist or cubist because
on that time technology was going to defeat art work. So they thinking how to
approach new way of seeing an art work as modern era or technology era. Pablo
Picasso and Goerges Braque started their cubism painting on 1907.
Cezanne solved a formula of problem how he can draw
thre-dimensional objects in a two-dimensional surface. He tought that
illusionism was a prespective which is denied the the flat paintin in
two-dimensional. He liked to flatten the space in his paintings to place more
emphasis on their surface - to stress the difference between a painting and
reality. He saw painting in more abstract terms as the construction and
arrangement of colour on a two-dimensional surface. It was this flat abstract
approach that appealed to the Cubists and their early paintings, such as
Picasso's 'Factory at Horta de Ebbo' (1909) and Braque's 'Viaduct at L'Estaque'
(1908,) took it to an extreme.
Based on Paul Cezanne’s three main ingredients - geometricity,
simultaneity (multiple views) and passage - Cubism tried to
describe, in visual terms, the concept of the Fourth Dimension. Cubism is a kind
of Realism. It is a conceptual approach to realism in art, which aims to depict
the world as it is and not as it seems. They used multiple contrast vintage
point.
There are two main types of cubism, analytical cubism and synthetic cubism.
Analytic cubism was mainly practiced by Braque, and is very simple, with dark, almost
monochromatic colours.
The Example of Analytic cubism
Synthetic cubism was much more energetic, and often made use of collage
including the use of several two-dimensional materials.
The example of Synthetic cubism
This type of cubism was developed by Pabblo Picasso. During the two
artists' time of collaboration from 1907 and ending with the First World War,
their styles intermingled and they painted the same subjects, making their
works at times closely resemble each other.
